About Me
Saxophonist and multi-woodwind artist Justin Pierce is rooted firmly in the jazz
tradition, seeking to continue and further the great American artform. Justin and
his Dallas jazz band frequently perform as a duo, trio, quartet, and quintet around
the DFW area, performing for weddings, parties, and corporate functions.
Justin recently completed a Master's Degree in Jazz Studies at the University of
North Texas. While there, Justin served as a graduate teaching fellow, teaching
applied jazz saxophone lessons and directed the Seven O’Clock Lab Band. At the
University of North Texas, Justin performed and/or recorded as a member of the
One O’Clock Lab Band, Two O’Clock Lab Band, and Latin Jazz Band. While at
McNeese State University, he was named outstanding soloist at the 2008 North
Texas Jazz Festival in Addison, and toured Romania for two weeks with the jazz
ensemble, performing in seven cities.
Justin is currently performing and teaching in the DFW metroplex and is available for

My Jazz Story
The first jazz record I bought was Kind of Blue, by Miles Davis. My junior high band director recommended it to me, and I don't know if he could have picked an album more appropriate: Miles Davis, an all-star rhythm section, and two of the most important jazz saxophonists of all time (John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley). Wonderful music that touches the soul.
