My Jazz Story

I am currently a 10th grade high school student that plays sax and piano. I attend an arts school. I started learning jazz in 6th grade on saxophone and piano. I have been playing it ever since. I love jazz because it is complex; it has rules, yet it requires creativity. I would say that I am at an intermediate level. I have a pretty good ear and I can hear how chords interact, but I still have a long way to go. I need to improve my speed and other technical aspects of jazz. My favorite types of jazz are hard bop, cool jazz, bebop, funk, and big band/swing.
