About Me
Jeffery S. McMillan is a writer who holds an MA in Jazz History and Research from Rutgers University. His writings have appeared in Current Musicology, The Historic Brass Journal, and the New Grove Dictionary of American Music, 2nd Edition. His book, Delightfulee: The Life and Music of Lee Morgan (University of Michigan, 2008) was the winner of the Jazz Times readers poll, “Best in the Industry: Books.” He spent ten years working as an archivist at the Metropolitan Opera and is a regular contributor to Opera News. He is currently the Managing Editor for the Journal of Jazz Studies and reports on jazz in San Francisco for ArtsAmerica.org.
