Mark Eisenman

Mark Eisenman is a jazz pianist, educator.

About Me

I'm a jazz pianist in Toronto who's originally from NYC. I've been very active in the Toronto scene. I do a lot of accompanying gigs, playing in many bands. My reputation as a sensitive accompanist for vocalists seems to precede me. I also teach privately, and at York University, and University Of Toronto. Please visit my web site for audio samples of my playing.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it's the greatest expression of the individual while still being part of a co-operative collection of personalities, working together. The first jazz record I bought was Supersax plays Bird. My advice to new listeners… when you find music you like find out what THAT musician's influences are and check THOSE players out.

My Favorites

  1. Hank Mobley - Soul Station
  2. Bill Evans - Alone
  3. Sonny Rollins-Saxophone Collossus
  4. Clifford Brown-With Strings
