Ben Scholz is a drummer/percussionist who lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. A native of Portland Oregon, Ben began playing classical piano and percussion at an early age. After leaving the west coast, he was accepted to the University of North Texas where he studied with renowned jazz instructor, Ed Soph.
Living in Chicago has given him the opportunity to work with a virtual who's who of musical innovators including Roy Hargrove, Esperanza Spalding, Jimmy Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Francois Moutin, Bill Watrous and Aaron Neville. Ben also frequently works in television and has produced, performed, and otherwise appeared on programs for MTV, WGN-9 and Second City.

An avid instructor, Ben also maintains a roster of private students and is a part-time faculty member at Loyola Academy High School.
