About Me

For more than four decades (since the early 60s) has been working as a freelance jazz journalist, presenter and producer, for some of the main Portuguese radio and television stations, as well as national newspapers and magazines. [By the way, in the 60s, hosted a jazz television program which broadcasted the famous series “Jazz Scene USA” and “Jazz 625”] As an amateur musician (drummer), played in Portugal, Belgian and France in various jam sessions with several jazz musicians like Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Milt Jackson, Percy Heath, Philip Catherine, Herb Geller, Pony Poindexter, Paul Gonsalves, Melba Liston, Sahib Shihab, Julius Watkins, Friedrich Gulda, Barney Willen, and was a member of the Dexter Gordon Quartet at the first jazz festival ever held in Portugal, in November 1971 (I Festival Internacional de Jazz de Cascais).
