About Me

The versatility of percussion Fósforo Sequera lets assimilate musical genres such as jazz, pop, rock, blues and world music in an original, colorful and passionate way. Born in Valencia and dabbled in music as a teenager, then faced drums with anxiety intuition and exploration of all good amateur, his ear was his best teacher. His curiosity was expanded to other percussion instruments, with the conga, timbales, bongos, djembe and cajon instruments to mark his path and forge an original style and sensitive, highly influenced by musicians like Trilok Gurtu, Nene Quintero, Jerry Gonzalez and Miguel "Anga" Diaz, among others. His musical development led him to share stages with such musical personalities of Gerardo Rosales, Marlon Simon, Franco Nasi, Carmelo Medina, Tony Velazquez, UC Jazz, Omar Lopez, CJ3, Borburata Jazz, among others. In addition, has participated in national events such as the Naguanagua International Jazz Festival 2008, III, IV and X Jazz Festival at the University of Carabobo and a lot of concerts where he has demonstrated his talent and skill as a professional musician.Currently, Fósforo Sequera stands out as a drummer and percussionist multifaceted, colorful, sensitive and one of the most valuable in the regional scene, actually working with groups like Trabala'o, UC Jazz, 8 Son Suficiente, Kactus, Sacrifice and Borburata Jazz. On the other hand, Fósforo Sequera has led a cultural movement in the city of Valencia, Venezuela to promote jazz and fusion music through the promotion and dissemination of concerts, clinics and conferences which highlights the importance of the drum.
