I write jazz and theater notices and news for KC Confidential, a blog created by writers who left Kansas City's daily paper as it went the way of most print publications. Kansas City has a rich jazz history; and the action here keeps me busy. I write the weekly column “Jazz Time,” review local CDs and club appearances, and keep readers abrest of what's happening at KC's 18th and Vine Historic Jazz District, where Charlie Parker, Count Basie, Big Joe Turner, Jay McShann and countless more artists got their start.
