Shane Dahler
About Me
Shane Dähler was given his first set of drums at the age eight. He developed his craft in high school
marching band, playing many percussive instruments. He accepted a scholarship to pursue a
Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston,
Massachusetts. Shane has studied with Billy Hart, Terri Lyne Carrington, John Ramsay, and Rakalam
Bob Moses. He is now pursuing his Bachelor’s in Business Management at the University of
Massachusetts, with honors.
Shane regularly performs as a sideman and leader, and has appeared at the Blue Note in
Amsterdam, The Tabernacle in London, and the Woodstock Opera House in Chicago. As a member of
the Siparia Deltones Steel Orchestra directed by Akinola Sennon, Shane travels to Trinidad and
Tobago annually to participate in the Cousoumeh Festival. He also teaches masterclasses on
modern percussion technique and American Drum lineage, and is credited on the album
“Cousoumeh,” released in 2016 by Ropeadope Records.
Shane both intellectually and emotionally understands the underlying thematic life forces of the
music he plays. His talent is strengthened by attention to detail and a dedication to perfection. His
mission is to use music as a catalyst for social and cultural awareness, in hopes of achieving peace
and prosperity for all.
