Valentina Gramazio
Vocalist, songwriter, Jazz producer, journalist, editor and eclectic Italian artist.
About Me
Valentina Gramazio is a vocalist, songwriter, producer and eclectic Italian artist. He collaborates with important musicians
of the Italian and international Jazz scene (Giovanni Mazzarino, Flavio Boltro, Giuseppe Bellanca, Pasquale Fiore, Alex
Orciari, Stjepko Gut and many others). He constantly performs in Jazz clubs, theaters and in Italian Jazz and author music
festivals. The language of jazz has been the same since a child thanks to his father Domenico, a great passionate and
talented amateur singer. Miles, Trane, Cannonball, Bird, the great swing orchestras, as well as the sacred monsters of vocal
jazz like Sinatra, Ella, Sarah and the other girls are, through the vinyl, their teachers and lessons are held in the living
room home. The daily listening of these legendary musicians educate and form his ear and his jazz attitude, bringing it in
a natural way to internalize a vast repertoire of standards, thanks to which he begins, while still attending the Classical
Lyceum, to perform live with various formations of professional musicians from the Paduan scene. In her early twenties she
is a student for two years of the lyric contralto Daniela Battaglia, with whom she studied vocal technique, dealing with a
classical repertoire. From 1996 to 1999 she was a student of the Jazz Vocalist Enrica Bacchia, while in 2000, moved to
Lombardy, she returned to classical singing with soprano Elena Bertocchi, always supporting the study of vocal technique
with the deepening of the Jazz language participating in seminars and Masterclasses with internationally renowned
musicians such as Jay Clayton, Sheila Jordan, Michelle Hendriks, Eduardo Lopes, Silvia Barresi and others. In 2012 he
attended the Summer Seminars of Piazza Jazz, studying with highly experienced teachers such as Cinzia Spata, Gegè
Telesforo, Anne Ducros, Barbara Casini, and many others. In 2012 he won one of the scholarships for the best female
students of the singing section of the Festival. The experience of Piazza Jazz continues and consolidates in Messina Sea
Jazz Festival, always under the direction of Mazzarino, a musician with whom he undertakes a professional collaboration
that will lead her in 2014 to become a member of the Jazzy Records label. Without the need to be pigeonholed into
musical or professional labels of any kind, his life is an artistically well- rounded life, in which the boundaries between
jazz, art and communication mingle in a continuous stream of notes, ideas, meetings and projects : on stage with various
formations, as a music and lyrics author, behind the scenes of advertising on advertising sets, in recording studio recording
radio spots and jingles, or organizing cultural events of music, photography and contemporary art. In May 2015 he
published PER INCISO, album of original compositions, reviewed on the most authoritative Italian newspapers (Jazzit,
Corriere della Sera, Panorama, Modern Woman, Joy, Avvenire and many others) and the single PER INCISO reaching also
the number position 50 of the Indie Music Like ranking in the spring of 2016.
The versatility of Valentina has also attracted the interest of the Degree Course in Economics and Entertainment
Management of the DAMS Faculty of the University of Udine - Gorizia, who invited her to hold two seminars on the theme
of discography at Giungo 2014 and May 2015 . During these meetings with the students Valentina brought her experience
as a songwriter and a music entrepreneur, telling live how a record is born and what are the strategies and techniques
that a record label puts in place to communicate, sell the product and promote the artist's image. In addition to
professionally dealing with music, Valentina is an established advertising copywriter (a profession that has been working
for 30 years, today as the owner of her creative boutique Gramazio adv) and is a journalist registered in the Italian Order of
Journalist with collaborations with some newspapers that deal with music, communication and art.
In 2015 she was invited to take part in the jury of the International Jazz Contest Tony Scott, in Campofelice di Roccella
(Messina).
In 2015 he produced the film-concert Giovanni Mazzarino - PianiParalleli, based on the music of the sicialian pianist
Giovanni Mazzarino, still in programming in Italian cinemas.
Very active as a cultural promoter, she is the curator of Crema Jazz Art Festival, an event that brings the most illustrious
Italian and international jazz musicians to the city of Crema.
