About Me

My name is Jed Vaughn. Since 2014, I've been freelance writing, traveling, and spending my winters in the warm weather on the central pacific coast of Mexico. I was born in England as a military brat and have lived in the Pacific Northwest USA since 1963. I love to write and share my experiences with a wide variety of topics. I am a guitar player who had aspirations of making a career of it in my younger days, but am happy to be a listener and writer as I've grown older.

My Jazz Story

I am a freelance travel writer from the Pacific Northwest USA. Jazz has always fascinated me with it's diverse reach into the world of sound and expression. Growing up in the 1960's & 70's, I fell in love with artists like Al di Meola, John Coltrane, Stanley Clarke, and Miles Davis. I really enjoy the jazz fusion that began in this era.

My House Concert Story

Al di Meola at the One World Theater in Austin Texas clearly stands out as an all-time favorite Jazz performance. Such an incredible iconic musician in an intimate setting with around 300 seats made for a memorable show... one I won't ever forget.
