Best Jazz EP Nominated Artist CARMEN GLORIA brings to you "The Art Of Love"
Carmen Gloria is an actress & artist in all mediums. She writes, paints, directs/produces/edits
film and is a songwriter, currently working on a few creative projects. She is also a proud U.S.
Carmen was born Carmen Gloria Pérez in Bronx, New York, and raised mostly in Puerto Rico. At 17
years old, she joined the U.S. Army active duty for six years. After being stationed overseas and in
Washington, D.C., becoming a Sergeant by the age of 21, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in
Government and International Politics with a minor in Legal Studies at George Mason University,
she moved to Hollywood.
In Hollywood, California, she acted in over 60 projects, including guest-
starring on Nip/Tuck, Everybody Hates Chris, The Shield, General Hospital, recurring on Lucha
Underground, and starring in He's Just Not That Into You, among other films, commercials and
theatre plays. She also won Best Supporting Actress by the Valley Theatre League Artistic
Director Achievement (ADA) Awards for the play “Soldiers Don’t Cry” in 2003.
As a singer/songwriter, Carmen Gloria's first jazz EP The Art Of Love has just been nominated
for Best Jazz EP by the Independent Music Awards 2019. She has had a few music releases prior,
including hits on Billboard's Top 40 Hot Dance Club Play & Top 10 UK Commercial Pop Charts,
“Emergency” & “Overload”, and UK chart topper, the Super Stylers remix of “Run Little Devil.” (as
Carmen Perez). Carmen released a Latin-Jazz/Neo-Soul Fusion EP, The Art Of Love, (with great
reviews by Jazz Reloaded and The Smooth Jazz Ride blogs) & a pop EP “Space Girl” w/great
review by KMS Music Blog, among other music. “Pajarito,” a piece she co-composed with late
British producer Matt Powell, is also featured in the Café Del Mar ~ Dreams 9 album.
Now based out of Norway, Carmen Gloria is working on a few projects, including as an actress, on
new Norwegian TV series via TV Norge titled Det Kunne Vært Verre and featured role in TV
series Magnus, both premiering fall 2018.
Carmen Gloria is fluent in Spanish, English and speaks
intermediate level Norwegian. She used the name Carmen Perez her whole life and since the
beginning of her acting career in 2001, having to change the name recently due to her being
confused with others in the media using the same name.

I love jazz because it has always made me feel connected to my own soul.
I was first exposed to jazz as a child when dad really appreciated latin jazz and was a bass player for some popular salsa bands in the 80's and 90's.
