My Jazz Story
I was first exposed to jazz in the '80s as jazz fusion. George Benson, Weather Report, etc. And slowly it peaked my interest to discover all the jazz greats. I worked as a DJ and had access to the music library where I listened to as many jazz albums as I could. I got to meet many of the jazz musicians when I lived in San Francisco and worked at Keystone Korner. All the greats performed there and I used to hang out with them in the back room and listen to their stories. It was an amazing time!Living in Greenwich Village, NYC, I was in the heart of the jazz scene and got to see many performers.; and even had my own gig at the Blue Note with Marc Cohen, piano, Harvie S on bass and Billy Hart on drums!!! What a band!
