My Jazz Story

I love jazz because... It's been my whole life, since my dad showed me some Monk records at age 6. I was first exposed to jazz... by my father, who took me from bebop to hard bop to free jazz in high school and I haven't stopped the journey since. I met... Christian McBride, Lou Donaldson, Stefon Harris, Don Braden, Carl Allen, Joe Locke, Jimmy Heath. Currently studying with Valery Ponomarev, Jeb Patton, and Oscar Perez. The best show I ever attended was... either Herbie Hancock or Russ Johnson playing a tribute to Eric Dolphy. The first jazz record I bought was... Eric Dolphy - Out There
