About Me

Athalie de Koning is an international singer with a passion for Jazz. She currently lives in Bangkok, Thailand, where she works as a singer and voice-over artist. She sings at The Glaz Bar, Plaza Athénée Hotel, every Friday and Saturday evening from 19:00-23:00. Athalie founded the band Jazziam in 2012 out of a desire to bring authentic music to audiences with a particular love for old-fashioned jazz tunes.

Specializing in old-fashioned jazz, Jazziam plays classic standards for swing dance events, as well as timeless tunes for weddings, embassy concerts, and other events. Jazziam plays timeless jazz standards, but does not shy away from experimenting with funky reinventions of these old tunes, always keeping swing, freedom, and improvisation as the main focus. The band members regularly write new tunes and release original material.

Together with her regular pianist, Paul Bebington, Athalie has made regular appearances at Smiles Jazz & Bistro and a season at The Continent Hotel as the Jazz Duo “Ath & Paul.” The duo also performed together in Hong Kong at the People's Fringe Festival - Music Fairground in November 2013. Athalie has brought her jazzy style to the Royal Dutch Embassy, the British Club, Mandarin Oriental, Grand Hyatt Erawan, Fubar, the Chatrium Hotel, and the Siam Kempinski Hotel, among other places.
