About Me

Zita Foster is a talented and versatile singer whose repertoire ranges from jazz/pop standards and show tunes to opera arias and Hungarian folk songs. Zita focused on her jazz singing and studied jazz vocal styling and technique with John Valerio, noted jazz pianist, composer, and author. She widened her repertoire dramatically and now covers much of the great jazz/pop standard repertoire and sings in Portugese, French, Spanish, and English. She is currently performing with John Valerio and various other jazz musicians in Charlotte, North Carolina, and upstate region of South Carolina. Zita sings from the heart and infuses each song with a subtle dramatic reading. Her voice is pure, yet expressive, and her interpretations are unique and colorful. Audiences are easily mesmerized by her graceful, unpretentious stage presence.
