My Jazz Story

I love jazz because... I was first exposed to jazz...at age sixteen looking for the sound of pure music, channel surfing on the radio and I found a station in New York called WRVR JAZZ radio, and it was love at at first sound. I met Gracion moncur III who lived were I grew up, I used to listen to him playing piano in his apartment, guess this is why I love jazz piano. The best show I ever attended was...jimmy McGriff at the Golden Slipper in Newark N.J. The first jazz record I bought was...John Coltrane's Blue Trane. My advice to new listeners...listen long,and listen well,and most importantly listen to the classics, then follow Wynton Marsalis and his jazz at Lincoln center orchestra. Or whatever else you have in mind.
