Convincente album d'esordio (prodotto dal Kneebody Shane Endsley) di un ottetto/nonetto capitanato dal trombettista e compositore John Blevins, giovane musicista attivo nel jazz, nel funk, nel folk-rock, nella classica contemporanea e presenza costante nei circuiti underground newyorchesi. Matterhorn riunisce giovani musicisti, alcuni già in evidenza con album da leader come la pianista Marta Sanchez, qui impegnata con ottimi risultati al Fender Rhodes, o il chitarrista Jeff McLaughlin, altri meno noti ma comunque portatori di entusiasmo esecutivo e freschezza di idee. ...
