Su A Quiet Time riluce ancora una volta la luminosa stella di Ahmnad Jamal. Nonostante l'assenza del fedele collaboratore Idris Muhammad alla batteria (con la conseguente minore mobilità ritmico-percussiva), non si notano sostanziali mutamenti di rotta, equilibri ed impasti timbrici.
