Nuovo capitolo del gruppo (adeguatamente rinforzato) che Enrico Fazio riunisce periodicamente (in questo caso nel novembre 2017, come data d'incisione) sotto il nome di Critical Mass e nuovo senso di ammirazione (del resto antico ormai di trent'anni e più, da quando il bassista piemontese iniziò a incidere musica propria con gruppi diversi dall'Art Studio, che fino a quel momento ne aveva assorbito le energie creative) per la ricchezza che questa musica sa esprimere sotto ogni profilo: compositivo, aggregativo, solistico...

The sky is pitch black. Spotlights are focused on seven musicians in front of a beautiful marble columned structure that towers over them. The outdoor concert starts and “Compagni di Merengue barrels out of the speakers. The group gets a huge, admittedly slightly cavernous, sound. The music is joyous, raucous, funny, and free within a clear harmonic and architectural structure. Fazio's Live at Milano evokes the feeling of controlled chaos and is more than a bit Mingus-ish. ...
