Tangria Jazz Group: Tangria Jazz Group

The Tangria Jazz Group is a piano trio led by composer/drummer Sheryl Mebane that has become a fixture in the San Francisco Bay Area since being formed in 1997. This self-titled release is the band's third album, containing a blend of straight-ahead jazz with a mild touch of fusion. A follow-up to the group's well-received Mebane's Eleven: Tunes for Two, (Self Published, 2006), this effort presents five uniquely arranged standards and two Mebane originals.

"Little melodies come to me when I'm walking." So says drummer/percussionist/composer Sheryl Mebane, the leader of the San Francisco bay area-based Tangria Jazz Group.
