Take Five With Don Diego

Read "Take Five With Don Diego" reviewed by AAJ Staff

Meet Don Bables:Don Diego is a contemporary jazz fusion saxophonist, vocalist and keyboard player who mixes instrumental covers of modern and classic R&B with rap and pop vocals. His music is divinely focused and undoubtedly appeals to the tastes of smooth jazz lovers. However, the urban flavor of Don Diego's music is unmistakable. While the Kenny G and David Sanborn will be obvious, one will discover the underlying influences of modern gospel and classic Detroit soul.Instrument(s):

Don Diego: This Must Be Heaven

Read "This Must Be Heaven" reviewed by Dave Hughes

Saxophonist Don Diego joins the ranks of competent saxophonists plying the contemporary smooth jazz/R&B trade. His latest release,This Must Be Heaven, will sit comfortably alongside the works of Kirk Whalum and Gerald Albright (both of whom make guest appearances), Art Porter and George Howard (both of whom are feted in the acknowledgements), and Grover Washington, Jr. (to whom tribute is paid on the selection "Mr. Magic... A Tribute").
