Paulette Dozier: In Walked You

Read "In Walked You" reviewed by Edward Blanco

A successful voiceover performer, model, and professional actress, with a commanding presence onstage, Paulette Dozier is also an exciting vocalist with a sultry appeal. In Walked You, her third full-length solo disc, reveals the tender side of the singer in a wonderfully charming album that combines standards from Great American Songbook with pop classic and original tunes from the vocalist and longtime collaborator and friend, pianist Mike Levine.Dozier's smooth and sensual delivery seems to be a defining characteristic, ...

Those images are truth in advertising with Dozier's music, and it just seems fitting that a woman who looks that way puts out such a polished and sophisticated musical effort on With You.The disc opens with the standard “Only You," starting out with a drum shuffle behind a bouncing bass line. Dozier ...

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
