01. Lhasa de Sela -La Llorona (Audiogram / Atlantic -1997).
Un canto espressivo ed elegante. Orchestrazioni eccentriche e bellissime. Triste averla persa così presto.

02. Jimmy Giuffre -Thesis (Verve -1962).
Ispirato e trascendente. Paul Bley e Steve Swallow complici profondi.

03. Philip Glass -Music in Twelve Parts (Orange Mountain Music -2008).
Pur suonando questo pezzo con Philip dal 2006, lo temo tuttora. Questo live registrato in Italia è il mio primo assalto a questo mostro implacabile. Philip è un vero maestro.

04. Herbie Hancock -Head Hunters (Columbia -1973)
Funk, funk, funk. Non l'ho ascoltato per circa trent'anni, ma recentemente ho liso il vinile! Immortale.

05. Keith Jarrett -Hymns / Spheres (ECM -1976).
Alla maniera di Messiaen.

06. Led Zeppelin -Led Zeppelin (Atlantic-1969).
Disco e band seminali.

07. Dmitri Shostakovich -Symphony No. 10, Andre Previn / London Symphony Orchestra (EMI -1983).
Cupo, minaccioso intenso e, naturalmente, squisitamente meraviglioso. Epico.

08. Dmitri Shostakovich (Bernard Haitink, London Philharmonic) -Symphony No. 15 (Decca -1979).
Sovversivo, capriccioso, sublime, cosmico. La prima volta che l'ho ascoltato mi ha letteralmente ipnotizzato. L'ultima e la mia preferita tra le sue sinfonie.

09. Bobo Stenson -War Orphans (ECM -1998).
Ho sempre amato Bobo. Il candore della sua musica è palpabile. Trio superbo con Anders Jormin e Jon Christensen.

10. Johnnie Valentino -Stingy Brim (OmniTone -2006).
Grande disco del chitarrista/compositore losangelino (via Filadelfia) Johnnie Valentino. Tutti i brani sono una meraviglia.
