Ron Kearns Quintet in Boston

The Ron Kearns Quintet will be performing at Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge, MA, May 26, 2004. This will be Ron's first Boston area performance fronting his own group. Ron will be joined by his long time sideman, Kenny Reed (trumpet/flugelhorn) who recently relocated to the Springfield, MA area. Joining Ron and Kenny will be Kent Miller, bass; Ricky Marshall, drums and Alex Makhimovsky, piano. The group is promoting their recent CD, Looking Back, Stepping Forward, which features Buck Hill on tenor sax(Foxhaven Records 70015).

Based in Washington, DC, the group has been a favorite at festivals and jazz venues and has done clinics and master classes around the US and Canada. Shows start at 8:00 p.m
