Soul-jazz organist Robert Walter built a reputation as one of America's heaviest jazz-funk crossover musicians. Walter, currently touring as a trio in support of his latest release Cure All, is gearing up for the fall tour that kicks off September 25 and hits several cities on the east coast.
Joining Walter on tour for the majority of dates are Johnny Vidacovich and bassist James Singleton (both players on the new album Cure All). Vidacovich is an elder statesman in New Orleans. He taught many of the local drummers and has been a fixture of the music scene there all his life. James Singleton has an intimate and extensive affiliation with the New Orleans music scene and a member of Astral Project, a fixture there since 1978.
The September 25 performance in Chico, CA features Chris Stillwell and Aaron Redfield of the Greyboy Allstars.
On September 27 Joe Russo of the Benevento/Russo Duo will be joining Walter and Singleton in Chicago.
