Codarts, University of Professional Arts Education presents:

JAZZ SUMMER SCHOOL: JAZZ AROUND THE WORLD
On the occasion of The North Sea Jazz Festival 2006
Rotterdam July 8-13 2006

During 6 days prior to the North Sea Jazz Festival, master classes by top, internationally renowned jazz musicians like John Abercrombie (guitar), Adam Nussbaum (drums), Gary Willis (el. bass), Gerard Presencer (trumpet), Tommy Smith (saxophone), Harold Danko (piano), Hein Van de Geyn (double bass) and David Linx (vocals) will take place.

The master classes concentrate on playing jazz music with influences from all cultures. The master classes will culminate in the formation of various jazz ensembles (big band, jazz quintet, jazz choir, fusion ensemble) that are scheduled to perform at public venues throughout the city during the days leading up to the North Sea Jazz Festival.

This edition of the Jazz around the world summer school is the first in a new tradition that originated when the North Sea Jazz Festival was relocated from The Hague to Rotterdam.

The master classes are aimed at (semi) professionals and conservatoire students from Holland and abroad. Instruments: trumpet, trombone, saxophone, voice, piano, guitar, electric bass, double bass and drums. Please note! Students will be selected by a jury before admission.
