North meets South for a musical collaboration Saturday, September 9th, at the Gullah Creations Gallery, located in the Citadel Mall in Charleston, South Carolina. Low Country Geechee charmer Abe White and Chicago-born vocalist/playwright Diane Cameron will be featured together in Atlanta, Georgia director Bob Gaye's Comcast cable television soap opera A-Town East. The segments will be filmed on Saturday and Sunday, September 9th and 10th, at Gullah Creations. However, the segment will be shown for a full month on Monday nights, Channel 25 on Comcast Television, in all markets that subscribe to the channel.

Abe White of the Carolinas' Low Country fame has appeared in Spoletto, MOJA, North Charleston Arts Festival and many fine establishments in the Southeast region. His CD That Geechee Charm was released in 2004 to outstanding reviews. Diane Cameron is a vocalist, writer, actress and playwright. She has toured extensively in Japan, Africa and the United States. She is the 2004-2005 Artist- in-Residence to Benin and a 2005 KORA Award Nominee. In February 2007, her original musical drama “En de Beginning" will be shown at the Native Islanders Gullah Festival. She sings a unique style of music called “diasjazzpora" heavily influenced by African rhythms and themes. She performs frequently with Abe White, and they will be going into the studio together to finalize a song Abe White has written exclusively for Charleston, called “My Hometown." Ms. Cameron is in the studio putting the finishing touches on the A-Town East theme song she and Ebmusic Composer Edward Elam have collaborated on. Her new CD Sweet Freedom will be released in November 2006.

A-Town East is a 30-minute fictional TV drama. It depicts the lives and livelihoods of people in an urban community somewhere in east Atlanta. A-Town East keeps it real with continuous storylines of love and relationships, family crisis, personal conflict, confessions, deceptions, greed, success and desire. This is the sixth season; over (50) episodes have aired on Comcast Cable CTV, Channel 25.
