MELODY BREYER-GRELL's debut CD, The Right Time", tells a story. While vocalizing in a traditional melodic style, her clever arrangements and simple improvisations add freshness to some of the familiar and lesser-known jazz and Great American Songbook" standards. Each piece is specifically selected and ordered to create a mood and a sense of direction.
Over the past few years, Melody worked as the musical director of the Jazz/Supper Club, Chez Suzette." It was at Chez where Melody was able to find her own style of vocalizing. I had to be flexible--sometimes gearing my performance to a restaurant other times as a listening room or bar." Many of the singers who are prominent today performed at Chez. The experience was invaluable.
With the release of the CD The Right Time", Melody has received air play on a 200 + radio stations and charted on many. Things have been happening fast.
