On Wednesday, June 16th, hear Austin McMahon's Many Muses and Landon Knoblock's Realistic Band at the Brooklyn Lyceum, starting at 8pm. The Brooklyn Lyceum is located at 227 4th Ave in Park Slope, Brooklyn. R Train to Union St. $10 cover.

The Landon Knoblock Realistic Band performs music composed entirely on a 1987 Radio Shack Realistic Concertmate 650 Sampling Keyboard. Blurring the lines between jazz, avant-garde, rock, and ambient, the group invents a new sound that is exciting and organic. Composition and improvisation seamlessly merge, tugging your heartstrings in a sensitive fashion or ruthlessly melting your face. Featuring Loren Stillman and Noah Preminger on saxophones, Matt Pavolka on bass, Jeff Davis on drums, and Landon Knoblock on rhodes.

Austin McMahon is an American jazz drummer/accompanist and composer of the highest caliber. His sensitivity combined with his constant pursuit of artistry, have led him to wide recognition amongst musicians and audiences alike both stateside as well as internationally. Many Muses is Austin McMahon's first offering as a band leader, and features rich melodic music with the rhythmic intensity you would expect from a drummer.
