Jazz & R&B Artist, Darrius Willrich Comes to the Triple Door in Seattle

Neo-Soul/R&B and Jazz performer, Darrius Willrich, who is scheduled to headline the Main Stage at the Triple Door Theatre on Friday, October 5th, 2007 announced today that he and the Triple Door Theatre, along with an organization known as Retail Therapy (www.ineedretailtherapy.com) will donate $1 from every ticket purchased to that night's performance to the Jackson Street Music Business Academy in honor of World Teacher's Day.

Willrich and his full ensemble will headline the Triple Door for one show only. Showtime is 11 PM, and tickets for the show are $12 in advance and $15 day of show. Tickets can be purchased at the Triple Door's Box Office, over the phone by calling 206-838-4333, or online at www.tripledoor.net.

The Triple Door is located beneath Wild Ginger, across from Benaroya Hall, in the heart of downtown Seattle. Doors open at 10:00pm. Must be 21 years or older to attend. The Jackson Street Music Program (JSMP) is a non profit organization that provides 12-18 year olds with musical programming to enthuse their creativity, as well as their social and cultural productivity through the art of music. The Jackson Street Music Program's Music/Entertainment Business Academy is supported by: Ariel Media, 98.9 Smooth Jazz KWJZ, Seattle University, Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center and Rotary Boys and Girls Club.

Held annually each October 5th since 1994, World Teacher's Day is a day that commemorates teacher organizations worldwide.

A music teacher as well as a performing artist, Darrius Willrich writes and performs music that molds and fuses together the genres of jazz, hip hop, soul, electronica and R&B to create a harmonious sound that are both hook heavy, and easily memorable. A composer, arranger, collaborator, session player and performer; Willrich hears the music around him with a wider spectrum and a greater ear. Mixing his natural abilities as an artist with a bachelors degree in Jazz piano from Cornish, Willrich derives his musical inspiration from influences such as Stevie Wonder and Prince.
