Her debut performance at Jazz Alley will serve as a fundraiser for Japan earthquake relief. Donated covers collected will go to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
“I have felt a connection to the people of Japan ever since my visit to Kobe. The their warm hospitality and enthusiasm for jazz has left a lifelong impression on me and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to give back in some small way,” Pettis said.
Pettis’ performance will feature a different rhythm section each night. On Tueday, April 19, Pettis will be joined by Darin Clendenin (piano), Clipper Anderson (bass) and Mark Ivester (drums), all of which appeared on her recent OA2 release, Here In The Moment. On Wednesday, April 20, she will be joined by her rhythm section from May I Come In? – Randy Halberstadt (piano), Jeff Johnson (bass) and Mark Ivester (drums).
