Headliner's Set for Southside Holiday Blues & Coltrane Jazz Fest

Multi-platinum artist Alan Hewitt and the SoulJam Orchestra with special guest Maysa Leak will headline the Southside Holiday Blues and Coltrane Jazz Festival in Dallas, Texas on July 5, 2008. Hosted by media personality and former Dallas resident, Lynn Briggs of KOAS-Las Vegas, this 4th of July Weekend festival celebrates the spirit of American music with other special guests like Nick Colionne, Greg Smith and James Butler.

The festival will be held in the streets of Southside Dallas (South Lamar Street and Corinth Street). Tickets can be purchased by calling 214-428-0025.

About the Alan Hewitt and the SoulJam Orchestra
Known for his progressive interpretations, kinetic energy and charismatic persona, multi-platinum artist, producer and composer Alan Hewitt has written and produced songs for such acts as Earth, Wind & Fire, Jonathon Butler, John Waite, Apollonia, Mary Fahl, Warrant and Donny Osmond. As an artist, Hewitt's expertise in writing, producing and recording have enabled him to fuse the boundaries between pop, urban, jazz & rock.

Alan has released several CD's featuring him on keys, vibes & vocals including his latest five-star release, Metropolis which Jazz Times states “This CD is sophisticated, urban & seductive". Jazz Review says “Metropolis is so good, you will close your eyes and lust after every note."

Hewitt has composed award-winning film scores and commercials internationally. He is the music composer for Survivor Latin America, Oprah, and also scores music for MTV's The Osbournes, ESPN, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Animal Planet, Comedy Central and feature films like God's & Generals, Bridget Jones, National Lampoon's Van Wilder, Swimming Upstream, Held Up, and the list goes on and on.

Fireworks happen when Alan Hewitt & the SoulJam Orchestra hit the stage with musical members from the bands of James Ingram, Bruce Hornsby, Chaka Khan, Jazz Crusaders and Gladys Knight. Jazz Review says this about Alan's live performance, “Hewitt's mesmerizing presence is enthralling and captivating. Alan is as prolific on vibes as he is on keyboards. His style of play is infectious and magnetic and the band just blew me away." Hewitt has been featured on BET's Studio Jams and is currently sponsored by [yellow tail] for his 2008-2009 tour.
