Walter Kemp III

Walter Kemp, III (Walter Kemp 3) is the lead composer and pianist for the Walter Kemp 3oh!, and co-composer for Grüvology. The 3oh! features RiShon Odel (bassist for Najee) and David Hulett, (master percussionist with Chuckie Campbell). The son of a Carnegie Hall classical and gospel pianist, he is the winner of Night Life Magazine's 2012, 2013, and 2014 Music Award for “Best Original Keyboard Player.” His collaborative partners include Sabu Adeyola of Ahmad Jamal Trio, Joseph Wooten, Rey Scott of Sun-Ra's Arkestra, and Bobby Militello of the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Walter’s jazz ensemble Grüvology, has toured Europe (spanning four countries), and Kemp's participation in touring groups and orchestras across Africa, Europe and North America has afforded the ensemble top honors.
