Mary Cross 2NspireU

International Recording Artist Mary Cross founded 2NspireU, (an 8 piece band) in December, 2016 in Southern NJ. The vision was to share her love of music worldwide. The music genres are Jazz, Classic Soul, R&B, and Soft Rock The repertoire includes original releases, and music from various genres by a plethora of artists including Nancy Wilson, Nina Simone, Gregory Porter, Rachelle Ferrell, H.E.R., Ledisi, Phoebe Snow, Patti Austin, Jean Carne, Deniece Williams, Phyllis Hyman, Lizz Wright, Captain and Tennille, Gladys Knight Linda Ronstadt, Stephen Bishop, Ella Fitzgerald, The Staples Singers, Betty Wright, Teena Marie, and a host of others.

Mary’s musical career began at age 12 when she joined the church choir. What she thought was mimicking voices was discovered to be an aspiring songbird with a rich bellowing contralto voice reminiscent of the late Phyllis Linda Hyman.

Mary performs to sold out audiences throughout the tri state region. She has shared the stage with artists Gerald Veasley, Eric Robeson, Allyson Williams, Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, William Wardlaw (Luther Relives), The Legends, The Mayor, The Blue Notes, Grammy nominated producer Donald Robinson as well as local bands and groups.

Mary’s optimistic views are affectious. Raised in foster care from birth, she endured a tumultuous childhood – but never allowed her circumstances to define nor derail her belief in seeing the good in others nor the importance of making a difference through her love for music and being kind - despite past experiences.

I hear in her quality vocals such clarity that reminds me of Phyllis, Sarah, Nina, Etta and the songbird Minnie, those whom I believe from the heavens give her musical interpretations a decisive endorsement of approval. Yes, Ms. Cross is a real talent, and I am blessed to have the pleasure to enjoy hearing her on this side of glory." ~ORLANDO CHANDLER, SOUTHERN NJ~
