I Troyka sono un trio esplosivo che esplora le forme del riff come elemento costitutivo delle diverse espressioni afferenti alla popular music. Tra progressive rock, jazz e funky, il gruppo conferisce alla classica formula dell'organo hammond-chitarra-batteria un groove inedito dove i loops elettronici e ritmi drum and bass vanno ad incastonarsi in strutture formali d'ascendenza rock.

Pur non essendo un disco squisitamente jazzistico, Moxxy (il secondo dopo il disco omonimo sempre per la benemerita Edition Records) lo è profondamente nello spirito. Con una vena irriverente quanto rinfrescante i tre musicisti giustappongono fonti diversi estraendole dal loro contesto codificato, fino a dar loro significati diversi. Al di là di un tessuto ritmico dinamico ed energico, è forse questa la carta vincente dell'intelligente, ispirata produzione discografica del disco.

Una band da tenere d'occhio, in continua rigenerazione per tutte le otto tracce attraverso imprevedibili contrazioni e distenzioni. Interamente ideato dal trio, il percorso compositivo parte da piccoli riff per esplorare di volta in volta moduli più estesi, determinando così la qualità di un CD che ha il pregio del dinamismo e della varietà. Tante idee e buon gusto al servizio di una musica ballabile, ricca di groove.
