Benchè dotato di ragguardevole statura artistica, il duo composto da Maucha Adnet e Helio Alves firma un CD anonimo ed irrisolto. Se l'intento era quello di svincolarsi dai consunti cliché brasiliani in favore di un andamento melodico più volatile, bisognava costruire un percorso capace di metabolizzare le due influenze stilistiche di riferimento (jazz e Brasile).

Sia pur contraddistinto da una buona dose di finezza e sensibilità, il progetto non decolla nella sua algida aura nel rivisitare alcuni dei più noti classici del songbook brasiliano del '900. Ne discende un percorso per lunghi tratti monocorde che non decolla e non punge, dimostrandosi incapace di offrire nuovi spunti al repertorio interpretato. Questo CD non rende per niente giustizia alla consolidata caratura artistica di musicisti che ci avevano abituati a ben altre ed incisive prove discografiche.

Alla fine la formula del duo si è rivelata più una trappola che un volano di creatività, per far emergere una schietta comunicativa priva di confidenziale sensualità. Superbo il menu musicale, ma manca un po' si sale nell'architettura interpretativa e d'arrangiamento.
