Maarten Hogenhuis has been gaining international visibility with his exciting power jazz group Bruut! and his trio has become a mainstay in Dutch jazz. The previous album Mimicry received rave reviews and this spring sees the release of its follow-up Rise & Fall. Hogenhuis wrote the music on the album especially for his current band members: drummer Mark Schilders and British bassist Phil Donkin.
