Live in Japan inaugura una nuova etichetta giapponese, la Wild Cat House, label dedicata alle registrazioni live effettuate al Gallery & Café Yamaneko-ken presso il lago di Ogose in Giappone. Titolare della registrazione è Alberto Pinton—sassofonista, clarinettista, flautista e compositore veneto da anni residente in Svezia—con il gruppo denominato Noi Siamo (per l'occasione il bassista della formazione originale Torbjorn Zetterberg è sostituito egregiamente da Yasuhito Mori).

La musica è un esaltante mix di energia e di controllo, di forma e di libertà con una particolare attenzione alle voci strumentali. Il riferimento storico può essere collocato nella stagione creativa degli anni sessanta con l'evoluzione del bop sfociata nel free e nei territori attigui ma il linguaggio che emerge in Live in Japan è figlio della ricerca e di profonde rielaborazioni personali.

Il sax baritono di Pinton esprime in qualsiasi frangente, anche nella convulsa ”Kapten K”, saggezza e potenza comunicativa e si combina magnificamente con la tromba di Niklas Barno (Fire! Orchestra), spiritata spesso quasi astratta. Al clarinetto in si bemolle il fraseggio diventa più spericolato come nella freeboppistica prima parte di ”Krigarens vag” mentre in ”Minimalism” il clarinetto basso interloquisce austero e propositivo allargando ulteriormente il ventaglio espressivo che caratterizza l'intera registrazione.
