Jerome Sabbagh fa parte di quella folta schiera di musicisti non usi alle luci dei riflettori mediatici o alle prime pagine, ma particolarmente stimati dai colleghi (non a caso Paul Motian lo volle fortemente nel nuovo trio messo in piedi poco prima della sua scomparsa). Se il suo biglietto da visita come leader è il quartetto nato nel 2004 con Ben Monder, Ted Poor e Joe Martin (tre album all'attivo particolarmente apprezzati dalla critica), interessante ci sembra anche questo trio paritario completato dal bassista elettrico Simon Jermyn e dalla batterista Allison Miller.

L'inizio è misterioso e conturbante, una "Caravan" del terzo millennio prosciugata e metafisica dove il suono prevale sull'eloquio. "Electric Sun" aggancia con la forza di una pop hit esaltata da un riff micidiale e dal basso elettrico che pulsa energia e ritmo."Olney" irrompe con un vigoroso dialogo tra batteria e sax per poi cambiare registro nella parte centrale dall'andamento rockeggiante ed un finale rarefatto e aperto. Insomma tutto l'album è un susseguirsi di situazioni e mood differenti con l'atmosfera complessivamente improntata al relax esecutivo e ad una espressività calda e avvolgente.
