Realizzato in un vinile a tiratura limitata dalla ottima No Business, questo lavoro testimonia un bel concerto norvegese del quartetto che vede il cornettista Bobby Bradford in compagnia di alcuni dei più significativi improvvisatori norvegesi di oggi, dalle ance di Frode Gjerstad alla ritmica di Ingebrigt Håker Flaten & Paal Nilssen-Love [The Thing].

I primi riferimenti che vengono alla mente sono con il quartetto di Ornette Coleman [con cui Bradford ha suonato in differenti periodi tra gli anni Cinquanta e Settanta], ma è da diverso tempo che una parte della scena scandinava condivide umori e traiettorie con quella creativa americana, spesso con esiti eccellenti.

Se a questo aggiungiamo che il feeling tra Bradford e Gjerstad è ormai cementato da anni di frequentazioni e che la spontaneità delle improvvisazioni è perennemente attraversata da un lirismo sottotraccia che sostiene la musica e che cattura l'ascoltatore in un mondo di grande profondità, sebbene declinato con grammatiche non nuove.

A settantotto anni Bradford è sempre un musicista meraviglioso.
