Dear All About Jazz Readers,

If you're familiar with All About Jazz, you know that we've dedicated over two decades to supporting jazz as an art form, and more importantly, the creative musicians who make it. Our enduring commitment has made All About Jazz one of the most culturally important websites of its kind in the world reaching hundreds of thousands of readers every month. However, to expand our offerings and develop new means to foster jazz discovery we need your help.

You can become a sustaining member for a modest $20 and in return, we'll immediately hide those pesky Google ads PLUS deliver exclusive content and provide access to future articles for a full year! This combination will not only improve your AAJ experience, it will allow us to continue to rigorously build on the great work we first started in 1995. Read on to view our project ideas...

Dear All About Jazz readers,

First, I sincerely apologize for the article that appeared on this page at All About Jazz the other day. Under normal circumstances, it would not have been published, but this one slipped through and I take full responsibility for it. Also, let me be 100% clear that the views of the author were his own and not reflective of my views or All About Jazz's in general.

We have editorial guidelines (here) and we trust our staff members to follow them. This trust allows me to remain focused on the tasks required to keep AAJ moving forward. In fairness to the author, he placed a note in the "message to the editor" box stating he'd understand if I rejected the article. But I never saw the note and I never read the article. Again, my fault.

If you only know All About Jazz as an album review website, then I'd like to take this time to introduce you to our other sections: Jazz Near You, the jazz musician database, daily news, the photo gallery, and the musician toolkit. The platform itself was developed to support the careers of jazz musicians and it's become our mission. (you can read more about it here).

As I'm sure you can imagine, producing All About Jazz and Jazz Near You is a daily challenge. We operate with insufficient human and financial resources, but we have made it work for 22 years because we love the music and we remain passionate about the web and all its possibilities.

I'd like to ask for a mulligan, with the promise that I will put in place measures to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks for reading.
