The message is the undeniable essence of the music for this five-piece Brooklyn-based band featuring poet and spoken word artist Camae Ayewa aka Moor Mother.

Irreversible Entanglements came together in Brooklyn, New York, to perform at a Musicians Against Police Brutality event organized after the death of Akai Gurley, which was caused by police brutality. Since then the message is the undeniable essence of the music for Irreversible Entanglements.

'Irreversible Entanglements' self-titled debut wakes the frozen body to move, the dead mind to react, the mute mouth to scream resistance' (NPR).
