La sensazione è quella di trovarsi all'interno di una navicella che vaga lassù, nello spazio. I suoni giungono ovattati, i movimenti sono lenti e rallentati benché fluidi, vi è un certo distacco dalla crudezza della realtà terrena come se si fluttuasse in una dimensione temporale che segue altri ritmi, altre storie. Talvolta ci si imbatte in turbolenze che scuotono dal rassicurante torpore, i sensi si allertano, si verificano anomalie che portano un po' di disordine nel normale corso delle cose. Capita pure che le comunicazioni si interrompano generando inquietanti silenzi, mentre sfrigolii e intermittenze sonore tentano di ripristinare il contatto.

A generare l'immaginario viaggio sono i capitani di lungo corso Fred Frith e Darren Johnston. Il nome del primo è indissolubilmente legato all'incredibile avventura musicale chiamata Henry Cow, ma per quarant'anni è stato infaticabile esploratore delle tecniche, dei suoni e dei limiti della chitarra. Il secondo ha attraversato con intelligenza e originalità i territori della musica improvvisata, di quella folklorica, della musica da camera, della sonorizzazione di film e di quella per balletti.

L'incontro di così forti personalità aperte ad ogni genere di esperienza non poteva che produrre un lavoro originale e dal forte impatto, dove le emozioni del cuore si intrecciano continuamente con le sollecitazioni della mente.
