And so, after a couple years away, the return to Heidelberg and Enjoy Jazz was a particularly fruitful trip that yielded consistently excellent performances. From familiar names like Charles Lloyd, Nils Petter Molvær, Dave Holland and Thomas Siffling in different surroundings, previously unexperienced live concerts from Amores Pasados and Julia Hülsmann, and the welcome surprise of an unfamiliar artist like John Kameel Farah, Enjoy Jazz once again managedin this case in the space of a little more than a weekto deliver on the foundational premise that makes it so terrific: stellar performances, delivered just one per night so that there was plenty of time to reflect upon them rather than simply rushing off to the next show, in venues perfectly suited to them.
All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
