Marc Wagnon: Earth Is a Cruel Master
La musica fusion sa ancora essere elegante e interessante, se affidata ad interpreti ricchi di fantasia, di competenza e di passione.

Marc Wagnon è un vibrafonista dotato di tecnica sopraffina, capace di guidare questo quartetto con chiare direttive progettuali, prendendo possesso anche della parte percussiva e delle tastiere (usate comunque in modo parco).

Sono con lui l'ottimo chitarrista elettrico Van Manakas (che ricordiamo nei lontani anni settanta alla corte di Gil Evans) e i due bassisti Leo Traversa e Danny Stone: il primo suona il basso elettrico, il secondo quello acustico.

Gli otto temi che compongono questo album sono tutti scritti dal leader e segnano un territorio pieno di raffinati chiaroscuri dove comunque non mancano mai energia e funkyness. L'orizzonte si allarga verso lo spazio per andare alla ricerca dei misteri del mondo. O per meglio dire, dei mondi.
