This week we kick off with the timeless voice of Canadian singer Jill Barber. It's been a long time coming that we had the chance to interview Jill and it's fitting to profile her large stature that is always growing. We spend the rest of the show focusing in particular on the female voices throughout the history of jazz. From Anita O'Day to Blossom Dearie, we take a look at the vocal jazz skies. Also, Kansas City jazz pianist Jackie Myers has a brand-new CD out entitled The State of This City and we profile that superb collection of music. The rest of the hour looks at the old and new of jazz to ensure that everything makes sense.
