Dario Congedo & Nàdan: Calligrafie

Il giovane percussionista salentino Dario Congedo è l'autore di tutti i brani presenti in questo album dal packaging quanto mai desueto, come del resto tutti quelli prodotti dall'etichetta leccese Desuonatori. Vi trova posto una musica a sua volta assai particolare, di referente jazzistico ma non solo, contrassegnata da un descrittivismo tutto sommato abbastanza atipico, strutturalmente molto sorvegliata, ottimamente impaginata (a volte persino lievemente schematica), in invidiabile equilibrio tra le varie voci.

I brani migliori appaiono "Calligrafia," nitidamente costruito, "Appunti lunari" (con Congedo alla kalimba) e "Invece adesso," aperto da un elegante duetto clarinetto/chitarra e nel cui seguito si distingue poi la tromba di Giorgio Distante, il più noto fra i cinque musicisti (ricordiamo in particolare le sue partecipazioni a progetti del cenacolo targato Improvvisatore Involontario).

L'incisione risale al giugno 2012, a tre anni dal primo album a nome di Congedo, intitolato Nàdan come il gruppo (all'epoca un quartetto con altri musicisti, tranne il leader e Distante, e senza chitarra) e i cui connotati estetici questo nuovo lavoro riconferma e rinforza.
