Sensazioni alquanto contrastanti suggerisce l'ascolto di questo secondo album del quartetto poLO (Porta/Lombardini), abilmente costruito, equilibrato, coeso, con un sound d'insieme efficace, definito, solido, gradevole all'ascolto, ma nel contempo scontato, ripetitivo, privo di tratti originali e di qualsivoglia afflato di ricerca.

Tutto ciò appare chiaro già dopo un paio di brani (l'intero corpus tematico è opera del quartetto, Salgarello escluso), attraversati da un post bop elettrico (ma senza eccessi) assai tipico del filone, con un procedere pieno, rotondo, ben tornito e messo a punto con indubbia perizia e padronanza della materia, ma senza che ciò determini mai una scintilla degna di questo nome, una nota fuori dal coro (una sì, anzi, ma non propriamente in positivo: la cantatina che De Paola si regala in "Mirror"), navigando sempre parecchio in superficie, a pelo d'acqua, senza sapersi scrollare di dosso un calligrafismo piuttosto ingombrante.

Fa parziale eccezione, a dover proprio scegliere un brano che si elevi dal mazzo, "Symbiosis," un po' più vitale e articolato del resto. Che si mantiene su una linea di ascolto di fatto buona per tutte le tasche (anche perché formalmente ineccepibile).
