InterStatic: Arise
Interstatic è una sorta di power trio formato da virtuosi strumentisti quali il tastierista Roy Powell (Anthony Braxton, Art Farmer, Terje Rypdal), il batterista Jarle Vespestad (Supersilent, Tord Gustavsen) e il chitarrista Jacob Young (Karin Krog, Nils Petter Molvaer, Christian Wallumrod). Trio che ha trovato ragioni comuni solide e importanti visto che è alla terza incisione in tre anni. E prosegue a battere le strade di quella miscela stilistica di jazz, rock, ambient, noise che ha contraddistinto fino ad ora la produzione discografica, con il prevalere, di volta in volta, di alcune elementi stilistici rispetto ad altri.

In questo Arise sono il blues, in varie declinazioni, ed il rock progressivo a farla da padrone, in un disco dalla forte carica energetica, dall'immediata comunicativa, dalla piacevolezza e varietà di situazioni. I tre evitano i cliché di lunghi assoli e della routine esibizionistica, dirigendo le proprie attenzioni verso un'interazione organica e costruttiva, nella quale sono spesso gli inconsueti impasti timbrici a caratterizzare il mood delle esecuzioni. Con la vigorosa, articolata, umorale "Frank'll Fit It," dedicata a Frank Zappa, che si ritaglia uno spazio a parer nostro privilegiato tra le dodici tracce di Arise.
